Dr. Liu Zhaolin from Singapore Agency for Science Technology and Research (ASTAR) Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE) was invited to the School of Mechanical Engineering (ME) for an academic visit.

Invited by Prof. Zhang Jie, the Center of Micro-Nano Engineering (COME) in School of Mechanical Engineering, Dr. Liu Zhaolin, a Senior Scientist III at the ASTAR IMRE, gave a lecture to ME teachers and students in the lecture hall C302 on April 3, 2019. The presentation was titled by " Electrochemical Energy Storage Materials and Devices. More than 50 participants enjoyed Dr Liu’s presentation.

In this academic report, Dr. Liu Zhaolin introduced Singapore economy and research landscape, which are interested to the audiences. Dr. Liu has systematically introduced his research progresses in energy storage materials and battery device characteristics, advanced high-power density battery development, fuel cell technologies, nanomaterials for coating and electrochemical machining technologies.

After the presentation, Dr. Liu Zhaolin provided Q&A session to the audiences for their questions on the nanomaterials, electrochemical devices and processes, which greatly benefited participants of their research interests.

Dr. Liu was invited to tour COME labs and other research labs in the School of Mechanical Engineering. The visit is beneficial to IMRE and Jiangnan University for further international academic research collaborations.

 

About Dr. Liu Zhaolin:

Dr. Liu Zhaolin is a Senior Scientist III at Singapore ASTAR IMRE. He has been working on new energy storage materials and devices for extended time. He has published more than 200 academic papers in SCI journals, which have been cited more than 10,490 times. The H factor is 56. He has held 13 granted patents.

1983: BS, Department of Chemical Engineering, Tianjin University

1986: MS in applied chemistry from Tianjin University

1992: PhD jointly awarded by Tianjin University and Darmstadt University of Technology, Germany

1986 to 1997: Associate Professor Department of Applied Chemistry of Tianjin University.

1997 to now: Sr. Scientist III Singapore ASTAR IMRE
